BUYER'S GUIDE · UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2026

Fencia vs OneTrust: choosing the scale of AI governance

Compare the job you need to complete, the sources you can connect and the decision a person must make. These products have different breadths; there is no universal winner.

FENCIA

Start with a source-linked AI review.

Fencia brings supported AI-use signals and document findings into a review workflow. Check the source, then record the human decision. Starter has a published entry price of €49/month; plan limits apply.

ONETRUST

Build a broader program.

OneTrust lists AI inventories, assessments, approvals, documentation, monitoring and policy controls for its AI Governance solution. A likely fit: An enterprise-wide program across models, agents, data and vendors, with approval gates and advanced monitoring.

A REAL-WORLD TEST

Bring one case to both demos.

A product tour can make different jobs look interchangeable. Use the same input and ask to see the decision trail.

01 / BRING THIS

One AI use case with an owner, a source document and a deployment question.

02 / ASK FENCIA TO SHOW

How the supported document and signal become a reviewable record, with source context and a human decision.

03 / ASK THE OTHER TEAM TO SHOW

How this use case moves through inventory, approvals and any runtime controls you require, using your actual platforms.

THE DECISIONDo you need a focused review record, or governance and enforcement across a live AI estate?

01 / COVERAGE

Verify what the workflow actually covers.

Fencia's EU AI Act analysis covers supported requirements; GDPR analysis is partial and ISO/IEC 42001 is a governance mapping, not document analysis against the standard. The other platform's broader scope may be valuable if you need those functions.

Ask each vendor to demonstrate your document, source connection and approval process. A product category alone does not establish equivalent coverage.

02 / COST

Compare the full workload, not only the entry price.

Fencia publishes subscription prices and credit allowances. OneTrust publishes pricing factors such as admin users and AI inventory, then asks buyers to contact sales for a custom price. A lower entry price does not prove a lower total cost: include required modules, usage, implementation and human review.

For a small team with a defined AI documentation question, Fencia may be a suitable starting point. For a mature cross-functional program, compare written proposals for the same scope.

03 / THE DEMO

Questions that reveal the fit.

  1. How many users and inventory items are included?
  2. Which discovery and runtime controls are in your package?
  3. Do you need enforcement or a documented first review?
04 / PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Questions worth settling before you buy.

Do I need runtime controls or a documented first review?
OneTrust describes runtime monitoring and policy enforcement for connected AI environments. Fencia does not provide runtime guardrails; it helps a team inspect supported documents and signals, then record a human decision.
Will both products inventory the same AI assets?
Do not assume that. OneTrust lists models, agents, datasets, vendors and projects in its registry. Fencia records known AI systems and candidates from supported signals after review. Show each vendor the asset types and sources you actually need.
